The second you walk in you can smell the tantalizing aroma. My mouth was watering before we even were seated. Are waitress was extremely helpful and explain the menu to us in great detail. She was wonderful and even gave us recommendations. We ordered soup dumplings and house fried rice and they were absolutely delicious. I have to say I am somewhat of a food snack when it comes to Asian food, because I lived in New York for 8 years. This was the best fried rice that I've had since I moved to Arizona!!!!

I went in person once and the food was phenomenal! The dining area was smaller than I thought it would be and there was definitely a line. So after my first visit I learned to order food to go. Now I get to enjoy their delicious food at home in my comfort zone. But if you decide to eat there in person, the atmosphere is very welcoming, just a bit too crowded from my personal taste.

Maybe one of the best “off the beaten path finds” of the year! phenomenal food quality, service, & pricing!!

Happy National Bao Day 8.22.22! We went Sunday since they are closed Mondays. The food was amazing! I am so happy to find this place. I ordered a bit of everything. I think I like Bao more than dumpling. Each have classic pork, chicken and veggie. The bao is so light. Their one of a kind crispy sesame bottom was soooo good and flakey. The house friend rice was so perfect, you didn't need to add anything! And let me tell you, the beef ribs as an appetizer was delicious. The staff was so friendly and nice. Our food came out perfectly ???? ???? ???? May 22nd 2024...Yal, I've been here a couple more times but let me give yal an update with some more photos. That lamb pho bowl is so bomb!!!

Barely made it in before closing. Been a while since we've been in. Had the XLB, steamed dumplings, and beef chow fun. Everything really hit the spot and was delicious. I definitely recommend trying HB's if you're in the area! Service was great. Will be back!

Tried this place for the first time and it was amazing! The dumplings were a bit pricey in my opinion, but the taste makes up for it. The customer service was amazing. The short lady at the front was extremely nice and helpful. Amazing personality as well.

We came in on a hot Mesa day. I had a pot of hot green tea... loose leaf . Yum! Very refreshing. My friend ordered the pork dumplings and I had the shrimp/chicken bao( pictured) Both dishes were awesome! Full of flavor and ample servings. Service was prompt smiling and knowledgeable ! Always a plus. We will be back for more. Happy Baos is located just inside the Mekong plaza and is memorable!

I like the food here, especially the Xiao Long Bao. The wait here is basically always insane because the seating is so limited. Definitely do not come here with a big group of people. As much as I like the food here, I do question whether a 20-30 minute wait is worth it every time. Service is pretty quick generally and I think the prices are fair. Parking is super easy, just be prepared for it to be busy!

Wow, so glad I came across this place when I was visiting Phoenix! Was craving Xiao Long Bao and this place really delivered on taste and quality! This place may be small, have limited seating, and be the definition of a hole in a wall; but I left feeling satisfied. The Xiao Long Bao and nice thin skins that held all of the wonderful soup and flavor. The Pan Fried Baos had that nice crispy bottom but fluffy tops. The Lamb Dumplings were also really unique, with that distinctive lamb flavor that was well complemented by the spices and seasoning that they used. If you come when they are busy, expect service to be a bit slow. But even then, I still think it was worth it and would definitely want to come back again next time! :)

My girlfriend likes Trader Joe's soup dumplings and I was like... No! You need to experience the real thing. This spot is right in Mekong Plaza and is pretty small and so there can be a wait list depending on how busy it is. We ordered Xiao Long Bao, veggie Sheng Jian Bao, Chilli Wontons, veggie Stir Fry Rice Noodles, and the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. Everything came out relatively quickly from the time we ordered and service was great when our food was brought out and getting our drinks. Everything we ordered did taste good, but some items seemed cold. The chili wontons weren't hot or warm and weren't even spicy. I wish the soup dumplings were warmer, it takes away from the experience when it's not. The veggie baos were nice and hot and steamy. My girlfriend enjoyed her stir fry noodles, but she likes almost everything. I didn't taste it myself. I did like the Spicy Beef Noodles, which was pretty much the Vietnamese dish Bun Bo Hue. I love Bun Bo Hue and have my mom make me the dish every time I'm back in the Bay Area. The soup here was pretty on point besides throwing in some bok choy in it. It had the right level of spiciness that I love in it, nothing too crazy, but just enough that it can get your nose runny. I feel like a lot of places have the spicy level super mild. If I wanted Bun Bo Hue, I would order it here. It was a fun experience for my girlfriend to try soup dumplings, but we would definitely come back. It would be 5 stars had it not been for those 2 cold dishes.
